School has officially been transferred online. I want to make sure to emphasis that school is still in session and that students have daily lessons and assignments to complete. PLEASE help to make sure your student does not fall behind during these 6 weeks away from the building .
PLEASE SEE FILES TO THE RIGHT FOR STUDENT EXPECTATIONS AND GOOGLE CLASSROOM INSTRUCTIONS.
If you still NEED to borrow a chrome book, we will be lending out our chrome books one final time on Wednesday March 18th from 9am - 11am. This is the last possible time that parents or students can pick up chrome books at TBA during this extended closure.
In order to receive a chrome book, we need to receive an email with the text below stating your permission to allow your student to borrow a chrome book. Students will need to come to TechBoston Academy between 9am - 11am on Wednesday morning only. Students will only receive a chrome book if we have an received an email ahead of time from you.
“I, (insert your name), give my child, (insert child’s name), permission to check out a Chromebook from TechBoston Academy during the extended school closure. By giving my permission, I understand my child is responsible for the device that has been assigned to him/her/them. I understand that my child has agreed to store the Chromebook in a safe space when not in use, be kind and safe online, not have liquids or food near the Chromebook, and not damage, deface, or remove the Chromebook inventory tag(s). I understand that my child acknowledges it is inappropriate use AND against the law to violate copyright laws; plagiarize; send, access, upload, download, or distribute explicit material. If the laptop is lost, stolen, or damaged, my child will immediately report it to his/her/their SSD member. I understand the Chromebook can be monitored or assessed at any time. I understand that all internet activity leaves a digital trail and I should NOT assume that all material or data on the Chromebook is private or confidential.”
Additionally, there will be ongoing food distributions sites throughout the city that will be available throughout this extended closure - here is the link that describes where they are. Please use this resource if you need it! TBA is NOT a food distribution site. https://www.bostonpublicschools.org/Page/8098
If you need anything or have any questions, please reach at any point throughout this closure. I am always here to help and support with whatever you may need,
Be healthy and safe and hopefully find some moments of peace and joy in this situation.

TechBoston Common now offers teachers the benefit of Pathfinders! These websites are built with a curation of resources that are specific to a class or unit using either Google sites or Weebly. Below are some examples of pathfinders created for TBA! Keep in mind that pathfinders are fluid, in that the information can be added and deleted as need be. If you would like to collaborate with me to create a pathfinder, please email me at email@example.com!
